New Children’s Worship Service
11 a.m. in Hammill Hall

Designed for 1st – 5th Graders, the inkWELL Children’s Worship Service will replace Sunday School during the 11 a.m. time for children in these grades! This worship time — complete with singing, teaching, media, breakout groups, and more — will occur in Hammill Hall, with “doors opening” for sign-in time beginning at 10:50 a.m. each Sunday. Parents, you are welcome anytime to join us for this experience. There are also great ways to get involved with the inkWELL teams! For more information, please email mike.beachy@harrisonumc.org.

Congratulations to Pastor Mark,
Selected to Participate in the Royce and Jane Reynolds Program in Church Leadership.

Our Senior Pastor, Mark Plummer, is among 21 lead pastors chosen among the applicants from annual conferences in Florida, North Carolina, Western North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.

The Reynolds Program in Church Leadership, which begins in August, will be held in four sessions and cover Foundations for Leadership, Developing a Vision, Working a Plan, and Mobilizing for Mission. The Church Leadership Program is designed as a positive investment in leading senior pastors, the congregations they serve and all of United Methodism.

The Church Leadership program is a cooperative venture between Leadership Education at Duke Divinity and the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, NC. The cost of the program, approximately $10,000 per participant is underwritten by a generous gift from Royce and Jane Reynolds and from the Parish Ministry Fund, through the United Methodist Foundation of Western North Carolina.

We celebrate this great opportunity and the blessing it will be for Pastor Mark and Harrison Church!

HUMYF Youth
in Charlotte Observer

Michael Shutt (right) and TJ Robertson (left) were featured in an article in the Charlotte Observer Sunday, June 14th.

The members of HUMYF share about "LaVida Local", a new HUMYF ministry, a ministry that they initiated back in the fall of 2008 with the "Adam Tanksley" benefit concert. We are proud of their efforts and community recognition.
